Jeu et Poésie

We publish poetry and literary games that bring reading, writing, and shared imagination together. We seek out works shaped by language, memory, character, and world-making: games that invite players to create stories, and literary texts that reward return and reflection. Our name recalls the wandering minstrel, carrying songs and stories from place to place. Through books and games, we hope to bring memorable words to new readers across languages and borders.

Fall of Magic

Designer: Ross Cowman

Artist: Doug Keith

Publish: 2022

Language: Chinese

Magic is dying, and the Magus is dying with it. We travel together to the realm of Umbra where magic was born.

A roleplaying game about magic, friendship, and travel. Journey across a handmade canvas scroll that slowly unrolls to reveal a landscape of fantastic locations, perilous roads, and strange hosts. The beautifully illustrated map incorporates evocative and open-ended story prompts that guide players in creating a narrative and developing a fantasy world. Your characters will accompany the dying Magus on an adventure that is unique to each play through.

Fall of Magic has intuitive rules and can be immediately picked up and played. One-shot or campaign play. No game master, no preparation. A tactile and immersive gaming experience.

Microscope

Designer: Ben Robbins

Translator: 樱庭若雪

Publish: 2025

Language: Chinese

Want to explore an epic history of your own creation, hundreds or thousands of years long, all in an afternoon?

Humanity spreads to the stars and forges a galactic civilization…
Fledgling nations arise from the ruins of the empire…
An ancient line of dragon-kings dies out as magic fades from the realm…

You won’t play the game in chronological order. You can defy the limits of time and space, jumping backward or forward to explore the parts of the history that interest you. Want to leap a thousand years into the future and see how an institution shaped society? Want to jump back to the childhood of the king you just saw assassinated and find out what made him such a hated ruler? That’s normal in Microscope.

You have vast power to create… and to destroy. Build beautiful, tranquil jewels of civilization and then consume them with nuclear fire. Zoom out to watch the majestic tide of history wash across empires, then zoom in and explore the lives of the people who endured it.

Mock chronological order.
Defy time and space.
Build worlds and destroy them.

Thousand Year Old Vampire

Designer: Tim Hutchings

Translator: 小龙

Senior Editor: 樱庭若雪

Publish: 2026

Language: Chinese

In Thousand Year Old Vampire you chronicle the many centuries of a vampire’s existence, beginning with the loss of mortality and ending with inevitable destruction. Prompt-driven play and simple resource tracking provide easy rules for exploring your character’s human failings, villainous acts, and surprising victories.  Expect gut-churning decisions and irreconcilable acts.

The game mechanics are simple and intuitive. Play progresses semi-randomly through a book of Prompts which let you explore your vampire’s wants and needs, resolve problems, and chart the decline into senescence. Play can happen entirely within the character sheet or can become a journaling activity–both work equally well.

The book itself is a masterfully designed object filled with scrapbook clippings, photos, and paratextual scribbles.
